Diabetes Canada – Empowering Canadians with Diabetes Education and Support
Diabetes Canada (CDA) is a nationally recognized charity committed to supporting the 11 million Canadians living with diabetes or prediabetes. The organization’s mission is to provide education, awareness, and support through a variety of innovative programs designed to improve the lives of those affected by diabetes.
CDA Programs:
- D-Camps: A unique program that provides children with type 1 diabetes an opportunity to learn how to manage their condition in a safe and fun environment. D-Camps empower children to build independence and confidence while receiving diabetes management education.
- Team Diabetes: CDA’s national activity fundraising initiative that offers Canadians of all fitness levels the chance to walk, run, or hike in events across Canada and globally. Team Diabetes combines physical activity with fundraising efforts to raise awareness and support for Diabetes Canada’s programs and research.
- Clothesline: This program collects gently used clothing, small household items, and electronics. All proceeds go directly to supporting Diabetes Canada’s initiatives and research, helping to make a lasting impact in the fight against diabetes.
- CDA Expos: These educational events are held in communities across Canada, providing valuable resources, information, and support for people living with diabetes, healthcare professionals, and caregivers.
- Diabetes Webinars: Free, expert-led webinars featuring healthcare professionals, diabetes educators, and individuals living with diabetes. These online sessions help participants learn how to manage their condition and stay up-to-date with the latest diabetes care and research.
