Diabetes Canada – Serving Canadians Living with Diabetes
Diabetes Canada (CDA) is a registered national charity dedicated to serving the 11 million Canadians living with diabetes or prediabetes. With a mission to improve the lives of those affected by diabetes, Diabetes Canada offers a variety of programs aimed at raising awareness, providing support, and advancing research for diabetes prevention and management.
CDA’s Key Programs:
D-Camps: This program provides children with type 1 diabetes a unique and supportive experience where they can learn to manage their condition in a safe and fun environment. D-Camps foster independence and confidence while helping kids develop essential diabetes management skills.
Team Diabetes: A national fundraising initiative that encourages Canadians of all fitness levels to participate in walking, running, and hiking events across Canada and around the world. Through Team Diabetes, participants raise funds and awareness for Diabetes Canada while promoting an active lifestyle.
Clothesline: This program collects gently used clothing, small household items, and electronics to raise funds for Diabetes Canada. All proceeds from Clothesline directly support programs, research, and advocacy efforts aimed at improving the lives of those living with diabetes.
CDA Expos: Educational community events designed to provide resources and support for people living with diabetes, healthcare professionals, and caregivers. CDA Expos offer valuable information and connect attendees to resources that can help them manage their diabetes more effectively.
Diabetes Webinars: Free webinars hosted by healthcare professionals, diabetes educators, and individuals living with diabetes. These online sessions provide insights into diabetes management, offer educational resources, and give attendees a platform to engage with experts in the field.
